Condemned once as a werewolf in Livonia in 1691 (really?), Thiess eventually studied creative writing (really) before turning toward scholarly endeavors. In keeping with this lupine lineage, his creative work tends toward the darker sides fantasy and horror, as well as the occasional work of science fiction. He has two mentions in the Writers of the Future Contest and a (*cough*) developing list of published short stories. Here’s a sample:
“An Open Letter to the Board of Regents…” Dirty Magick Magazine, Issue Three.
“Granny Heloise’s Fertilizer Bomb” Bullet Points, volume 8.
“The Orange” Into the Dark (All Worlds Wayfarer) (forthcoming)
Stay tuned for more, and maybe a novel, who the hell knows…
